Media Inquiries
Working With the Media
Liberty Hill ISD values its relationships with local and regional media and is committed to providing timely, accurate information while protecting student privacy, campus safety, and the instructional environment.
Liberty Hill ISD is a closed district. All media inquiries, interview requests, campus visits, and requests to photograph or record students or staff must be coordinated through the Liberty Hill ISD Communications Department.
Contact Communications
Media representatives should contact the Communications Department directly for district information, interviews, campus access, filming requests, or other media coordination.
Media Requests
Providing complete request details helps the District identify the appropriate spokesperson and coordinate interviews, access, and scheduling as efficiently as possible.
When submitting a request, please include:
- Reporter name and media outlet
- Topic or purpose of the request
- Requested interviewee or campus, if applicable
- Deadline
- Preferred interview date and time
- Contact information
Please provide as much advance notice as possible. Requests involving campuses, students, or staff require coordination to minimize disruption to instruction and normal school operations.
Same-day campus interview requests received after 1 p.m. generally cannot be accommodated.
Athletics Media Press Pass
Liberty Hill ISD issues Athletics Media Credentials to approved media representatives, student media, and campus-sponsored organizations covering LHISD athletic events.
Individuals requesting field, sideline, press box, or other designated media access must apply in advance. Approved applicants will receive an LHISD-issued credential that must be worn and clearly displayed while accessing credentialed areas.
Credential Requirements
Before applying, all applicants must read and agree to abide by the LHISD Athletics Media Credential Handbook , which outlines credential eligibility, access requirements, conduct expectations, photography and video guidelines, safety requirements, and other conditions of use.
By applying for and accepting an LHISD Athletics Media Credential, credential holders acknowledge that they have read and agree to follow the handbook and all applicable district, campus, athletic department, venue, and event requirements.
Credentials are issued at the discretion of Liberty Hill ISD and do not guarantee access to every venue or restricted area. Access may be limited or revoked based on safety, available space, event operations, failure to follow credential requirements, or applicable UIL or postseason regulations.
Media Access to District Facilities and Students
The following guidelines help protect student privacy, maintain campus safety, and minimize disruption to teaching and learning.
Campus Access
Media representatives may not enter Liberty Hill ISD campuses or District facilities for reporting, photography, recording, or interviews without prior authorization from the Communications Department or Superintendent.
Approved media visits will be coordinated by the District, and a designated District representative may accompany media while on campus.
Spontaneous interviews with students or employees during the school day are generally not permitted.
Student Interviews, Photography and Video
Requests to interview, photograph, or record students on District property or during the school day must be coordinated through the Communications Department.
The District must consider student privacy, applicable parent or guardian permissions, the nature of the requested coverage, campus safety, and potential disruption to the educational environment before facilitating student participation.
Authorization to enter a campus does not automatically constitute authorization to interview, photograph, or record individual students.
School Buses and District Transportation
These media access procedures also apply to school buses and other District-operated transportation.
Media representatives may not board a Liberty Hill ISD school bus or other District vehicle to conduct interviews, photograph or record students or staff, or gather news without prior District authorization.
Emergency and Breaking News
During emergencies or other rapidly developing situations, Liberty Hill ISD will provide verified information through official District communication channels and designated spokespersons.
Media representatives should direct requests for information, interviews, or access to the Communications Department rather than contacting the affected campus directly. Access to campuses or other District property may be restricted during an emergency response.
